Items, item families and statistics

Ok almost everyone has posted a news about his work, it’s time I get on with it…

In the past weeks I’ve been working on a new feature of the game: the crafting system. A first step was to extend the concept of item in order to make the crafting system interesting and to convey an idea of progression.

Item tooltip

New items stats:

  • Rarity: indicates both the difficulty to find an item, and its value. There are 6 rarity values: Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, Legendary and Artifact. A specific color has been associated to each rarity.
  • Primary family: Items can belong to multiple families, among which, one is considered its primary family and is displayed in the tooltip.
  • Tier: represents the evolution between items. In the upcoming release there will be 3 available tiers.
  • Crafting material: indicates whether or not this item is used as an ingredient in a crafting recipe.

Of course there are still other statistics depending on the item’s type, like damage, associated projectile and number of rounds per minute for weapons.

"Non commun" sonne bizarre... "Peu commun" est certes plus classique mais aussi plus cohérent je pense.

Sinon, je trouve très bonne l'idée de ces critères.

crafting matérial : matériaux de fabrication, ça veut dire qu'il sert pour fabriquer des objets

Sympas la description des items , j'aime bien c'est clair , net et précis que demander de plus :D ? Petite question néanmoins : Que veux bien signifier l'icone en dessous du "T2" dans la description de l'acier ?

je tien tout dabor à mescusé du poste précédent (j'avais écri sa pour rire)

je bave de plus en plus devent le jeu en voyent ce qui nous attend.

Looks interesting. Is that concept art or a screenshot? I feel like it may look better without the black background, but the hexagons are very nice! Reminds me a little bit of the inventory in the Animal Crossing games. :) Another thing, some of the labels in the tooltip feel unnecessary. You could really leave out the words "Rarity" and "Primary family" and it would still be clear what "Rare" and "Alloy" means. Also, I might be interpreting the definition of tiers here, but wouldn't it be awesome to show where the current item evolved from, and maybe even where it can evolve into?

Anyway, I can't wait to try and see it for myself. These sort of things can really make or break a game... but it looks promising!

Non je rigole, j'adore le concept des news fréquentes qui parle du boulot de tout le monde, continuez je vous adore, je vous connais depuis le début mars 2014 (campagne Kickstarter) et je n'ai pas arrêté d'être impatient ! ;D
